Hygge Night

DOVER — On Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m. teens in grades 6-12 are invited to the Dover Public Library to celebrate all things hygge. Enjoy a pancake bar, hot chocolate and tea, try your hand at watercolor painting or air dry clay, all in a cozy and relaxed environment.

History of Fashion: 1770s-1950s

DOVER — Join the Dover Public Library on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library's Lecture Hall or virtually for a lesson on the History of Fashion with Katie Raynes, Roleplaying Coordinator at Strawbery Banke Museum. No registration is required.

The Tribes in Maine and the Boarding School Era

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine- Old Berwick Historical Society will present an online lecture by educator John Bear Mitchell, a citizen of the Penobscot Nation, on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Titled, The Tribes in Maine and the Boarding School Era, Mitchell will discuss how government boarding schools affected the Maine tribes and what were the repercussions. DOVER — On Thursday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. join the Dover Public Library for a fireside chat with experts in recycling, upcycling, and reselling in the fashion industry.

Build a Snowman

DOVER — On Thursday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. stop by the Dover Public Library anytime during the day to build a snowman on our front lawn. We will have some supplies available, but feel free to bring your own materials too. This event is weather and snow dependent.

Full Moon Owl Prowl with Tailwinds

PORTSMOUTH — Join Tailwinds environmental educators Jan. 25 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Forest Society Education Center at Creek Farm, 400 Little Harbor Road, Portsmouth, to learn about our wild owl neighbors, meet an owl up close and in person, practice your owl calls, and learn about these incredible animals and the amazing habitats they live in. Participants will be invited to take a walk around the property to practice their owl calls after the talk.

PORTSMOUTH — My Queer Faith with Kimayo will be held at the North Church of Portsmouth, 2 Congress St., Portsmouth, on Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. Storytelling and live music followed by a panel discussion. Donations accepted and welcomed.
