National old-fashioned Southern-style dessert shop opens first Treasure Coast location

A national old-fashioned dessert shop has opened its first location on the Treasure Coast.

The Peach Cobbler Factory opened Aug. 30 in the Stuart Centre shopping plaza, next to Five Below. It’s in the former location of Modern Juice Co., which closed in April after five years, but kept its original Jupiter location open.

The new restaurant is one of seven locations in Florida: Fernandina Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Tampa and two in Jacksonville.

It features classic Southern-style desserts, including 12 flavors of cobbler, all served with premium vanilla bean ice cream.

Cobbler flavors include apple walnut raisin, blackberry peach, caramel apple, cherry, cinnamon praline peach, honey apple, strawberry, mango peach, sweet potato pecan, blackberry, strawberry peach and traditional peach.

The dessert menu also features 12 flavors of banana pudding, six kind of gourmet cinnamon rolls, a variety of cobbler cookies and 12 different milkshakes, called Pudd-N Shakes.

Beverages include its own “Sweet Peachy Tea” and “Cold Rush Coffee” options.

Although the new Stuart location closes at 10 p.m., desserts can be delivered until midnight through Grubhub, Uber Eats or DoorDash.

Tamira and Juan Edgerton started the company in 2013 in Nashville, Tennesse, and partnered with 25-year franchise industry veteran Greg George in August 2021. The couple then divested their interest in the company when Larry Johnston, former chairman and CEO of Albertsons, acquired a major stake in April 2022.

The national chain has locations in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington D.C., West Virginia and Wisconsin.

It’s planning more across Florida: Brandon, Cape Canaveral, Citrus Park, Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Gainesville, Lake Buena Vista, Lakeland, Land O’ Lakes, Naples, New Smyrna Beach, Orange Park, Orlando, Ormond, Panama City, Pensacola, Riverview, Santa Rosa, St. Augustine, St. John’s, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, The Villages and Winter Park.
