National Coffee Day is Sept. 29: Here's where to grab a free cup in Central Jersey

National Coffee Day is Friday, Sept. 29, and there are a "latte" good deals and discounts from local and chain coffee shops and cafes throughout New Jersey.

According to professional coffee tasters, the perfect cup is comprised of aroma, body, acidity and flavor.

Here's where to go to find a free cup or a good deal:

Dunkin’: Having celebrated with coffee specials all September, Dunkin's nearly 900 New Jersey locations will offer its Dunkin’ Rewards members a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase. Details are available on the Dunkin' blog.

McDonald’s: With the McDonald’s App, customers can get a $.99 any size Premium Roast Coffee or Iced Coffee once a day through Dec. 31 at participating restaurants nationwide. That's includes on National Coffee Day.

Paris Baguette: The bakery cafe chain will keep the java specials going all weekend long, offering rewards members one free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase from Sept. 29-Oct. 1. There are Central Jersey Paris Baguette locations in Bound Brook, Edison, Montgomery and North Brunswick. To take advantage of the National Coffee Day offer, customers must join Paris Baguette Rewards on or before Sept. 29.

Royal Farms: With one Central Jersey location in Manville, Royal Farms will give one free any size coffee, hot or iced, to accounts of customers who are members of the RoFo Rewards program.

QuickChek: The Whitehouse Station-based convenience store chain, with 165 stores throughout the Garden State and New York, is giving its rewards members a free any size, self-serve coffee – hot or iced – with any purchase.

Staples: If you are willing to make your own cup, Staples will offer a discount of up to $13 off on K-Cups 44-count or greater, and $60 off the Keurig K1500, from Sept. 24-30.

Tim Hortons: Get a free medium cold brew, any flavor, when you download the app.

Wawa: Wawa Rewards members get a free drink after their first purchase.

Starbucks: National Starbucks Day coincides with National Coffee Day. Select Starbucks stores will host free coffee tastings led by expert baristas or by a Starbucks-certified Coffee Master, which is a special designation for their partners (employees) around the world who are experts in coffee knowledge and complete the Starbucks Coffee Academy. Join the rewards program to start earning points toward a free coffee.

The Coffee House, Edison: The community-oriented shop at 931 Amboy Avenue is offering a free 12 oz. cup of drip coffee or small tea from 7 to 11 a.m.

Khyer Coffee and Tea House, New Brunswick: With their Grand Opening scheduled for next week, the new coffee spot at 110 Church St. is offering a free coffee - any size or style - from 8 to 10 a.m.

Ambee Coffee Company: Both Ambee locations − 37 West Main St. in Somerville and 605 Route 202 in Raritan − are offering customers $2 hot or iced coffee to mark the holiday.

Bliss Coffee Lounge, Somerville: Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the 14 East Main St. shop is offering 10% off specialty lattes the entire day and half-price for a pastry when ordered with a coffee until noon.

Eminato, Hillsborough: Located at 220 Triangle Road, Suite 225, the shop is including National Coffee Day in its week-long celebration of Hillsborough Restaurant Week with 25% off its Fall Coffee Specials through Sunday.

Gloria Jean's Coffees, Bridgewater: Mention National Coffee Day and this location at the Bridgewater Commons Mall will give customers 10% off.

Black River Roasters, Whitehouse Station: An artisan coffee roastery and coffee shop at 424 Route 22, Black River Roasters will be running a promotion of "Buy One Drip or Iced Coffee, Get One Half Off" on Friday.

POURtuga Coffee House, Watchung: A free coffee with the purchase of one dozen natas (Portuguese custard cups) is offered all day for customers at the shop at 60 Stirling Road.

Tap & Bitters: The restaurant at 200 Liberty Corner Road in Warren has a coffee-connected special for the day. Instead of coffee in a cup, the Coffee Crusted Pork Chop, topped with a maple bourbon glaze and served with mashed potatoes and roasted onion, will be a highlight.
