National Cinema Day offers $4 movies; find out where in El Paso

If you haven't seen "Blue Beetle" yet, you have a great opportunity to see it for $4 on National Cinema Day.

Cinemark locations, AMC Theatres, Flix Brewhouse, Alamo Drafthouse and Premiere Cinemas at Bassett Place are offering $4 movies along with exclusive concession deals on Sunday, Aug. 27.

How many movie theaters will be part of National Cinema Day?

Approximately 30,000 screens across 3,000 locations are expected to take part in the one-day event, according to The Cinema Foundation, the non-profit organizing the event.What movies will be shown in cinemas?Popular cinema chains, including AMC Theatres and Regal Movies have also announced their participation in the event and are even offering discounted popcorn.

At Premiere Cinemas, “every guest that attends will receive a scratch-off card (while supplies last) good for a chance at in-theater prizes including concession items up to movies for a year," said Don Massingill, director of operations for Premiere Cinemas in a press release.

What movies will be shown in cinemas?

Moviegoers will be able to catch the latest films made for the big screen, including new releases "Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story", "Blue Beetle," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem", "Barbie", "Oppenheimer", and the re-release of cult-classic "Jurassic Park" in 3D, as well as a special sing-along version of Disney’s live-action "The Little Mermaid."

At Cinemark theaters, the deal will apply to all formats including Cinemark XD, IMAX, D-BOX and 3D. Cinemark also will offer $1 off any-size popcorn, soda and candy. Flix Brewhouse, 6450 N Desert Blvd., will offer $5 bottomless popcorn.

At Alamo Drafthouse theaters, 250 Montecillo Blvd., and 12351 Pellicano Dr., certain events and specialty screenings are excluded from the offer. Tax and convenience fees are not included in the $4 ticket price.
