National Cheeseburger Day 2023: 10 places you'll find burger deals, freebies
National Cheeseburger Day is Monday, honoring the hamburger draped with a melty slice of cheese. Several metro Detroit places and national chains are celebrating with deals and discounts, from freebies to buy-one-get-one to cheeseburgers for a penny. There are limits and requirements for the deals, like ordering through apps. The discounts and offers are mostly available on Monday only.

Applebee's
When you dine in or order off the Applebee's mobile app, a cheeseburger and fries is $8.99. According to its website, a classic cheeseburger is normally $11.99.

Bunkhouse Burgers
Mini-B’s burgers at the Clarkston burger spot owned by Union Joints (Clarkston Union, Vinsetta Garage, Honcho and others) are $1 starting Saturday through Monday. There’s a limit of five mini burgers per customer. Mini-B’s are mini cheeseburgers with 2-ounce patties, griddled onions, pickles and American cheese. Bunkhouse Burgers, 5890 S. BurgerFi
When you purchase a BurgerFi Freestyle Drink, for $3 you can add on a burger or cheeseburger. BurgerFi’s cheeseburger features two patties, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato and Fi sauce. The only BurgerFi location in Michigan is in Northville at 18801 Traditions Drive.

Burger King
The national chain is having a week’s worth of deals starting Monday. Most deals require $1 purchase. Free cheeseburgers will be doled out with any purchase of $1 or more for members of its Royal Perks rewards program. Following Monday and through Sept. 24, a different deal is offered each day. On Tuesday, when you spend $1, you can get a Whopper Jr. for free. On Wednesday, Whoppers are $3. Thursday is BOGO on all Whoppers. Friday, it’s free onion rings with $1 purchase. On Sept. 23, a family meal bundle is featured for $22. On the last day of deals, Sept. 24, Royal Perks members get double Crowns points.

McDonald’s
McDonald's double cheeseburger is 50 cents at any participating location nationwide when you order through the McDonald’s App. This year, McDonald’s made some changes to its burger lineup including softer and freshly toasted buns, and adding more special sauce to the Big Mac.

Dairy Queen
You can get a free cheeseburger with any $1 purchase on Monday. As an added bonus, you can pair the cheeseburger with a Dairy Queen Blizzard Treat, which are 85 cents through Sept. 24.

Ford’s Garage
When you order a Ford’s Garage burger on Monday, you get a free Coca-Cola drink. The offer is available at both its Dearborn and Novi locations. Ford’s Garage is known for its signature Model A and Jiffy Burger served on a brioche or European pretzel bun.

Chain-wide at Savvy Sliders, its Simply Savvy cheeseburger sliders are two for $5. There are 32 locations participating throughout metro Detroit, Flint, Lansing and Grand Rapids, according to a news release. The regular price is $3.99 per slider.
