The National’s Bryan Devendorf Releases New Album Royal Green : Listen

Bryan Devendorf, the drummer of the National, has released the debut album from his new project Royal Green. The eight-song album was made in collaboration with sound designer Nate Martinez and features appearances from bandmate Aaron Dessner and multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman (Bonny Light Horseman, Muzz). Listen to the album below, and check out the video for “Breaking the River,” directed by Owen Cummings.

With the launch of their new album, Royal Green are selling beach towels, wristbands, and trucker hats. The album’s vinyl release is due out in December.

Royal Green continues a busy year for the members of the National: Aaron Dessner worked closely on Taylor Swift’s latest album folklore, and Matt Berninger will release his debut solo album Serpentine Prison in October. In June, the band celebrated the 10th anniversary of High Violet with a deluxe vinyl edition.
