Star comedian and Tennessee native Nate Bargatze is coming to Memphis. The acclaimed funnyman, podcaster, director and producer will be headlining a May 31 show at Downtown's FedExForum.

Tickets to the performance, part of Bargatze’s “The Be Funny Tour” — which is already setting attendance records in his home state — go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday. A special early FedExForum presale starts at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Bargatze has seen his career explode over the last few years. Born in Old Hickory, Tennessee, Bargatze followed in the showbiz footsteps of his father, a former clown turned world class magician, whose influence is seen on his 2015 debut Comedy Central special, “Full Time Magic,” and his debut album, “Yelled at By a Clown,” which reached No. 1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts and remained on Billboard’s Top Ten Comedy Charts for weeks.

A series of popular specials — including 2019’s “The Tennessee Kid,” 2021’s “The Greatest Average American” (which also earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album), and 2023’s “Nate Bargatze: Hello World”— followed. Bargatze also signed to Universal Music Group Nashville as their flagship comedian under their new Capitol Comedy label. This past fall he hosted an episode of NBC's "Saturday Night Live."
