Happy Hanukkah! The festival of lights began on Sunday, Dec. 22, and Natalie Portman, Andy Cohen, and more stars are celebrating Hanukkah in style. From sharing latke and sufganiyot recipes to lighting the menorah with their kids, these stars are letting us in on their favorite Hannukah traditions.

There is more to the eight-night holiday than just lighting the menorah, reciting prayers, and eating latkes: There are also dreidels, gelt, and the annual retelling of the Hanukkah miracle — and if your family gets into it, it has some of the most fun Jewish holiday traditions.

Hanukkah is the perfect time for the kids of the family to get together, build memories, and connect with their roots by feeling how special it is to carry on old traditions. See how these stars are celebrating the holiday in 2019!

Tiffany Haddish

After learning she’s Jewish, Tiffany Haddish began connecting with her Jewish identity. (She recently learned Hebrew and even had a bat mitzvah.) Connecting with her roots meant celebrating Hanukkah this year — and learning more about its traditions in the process.

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman shared her vegan latke recipe along with a video of the star preparing the special treats. Pal Mindy Kaling commented, “I’m going to culturally appropriate this recipe it looks so good.”

Andy Cohen

Andy Cohen celebrated baby Benjamin’s first Hanukkah this year and shared a sweet photo of himself lighting the menorah while holding his son.

Juliette Lewis

Juliette Lewis reposted husband Brad Wilk’s Hanukkah post for the holiday: a graphic of Sammy Davis Jr. holding a microphone with the slogan “Happy Hanukkah!”

Dorit Kemsley

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley shared a sweet snap with daughter Phoenix for the holiday, writing: “Wishing you peace, joy, and love this Hanukkah and beyond.”
