Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin has been linked to her boyfriend, Ben Weyand, since 2022.

A few years before going Instagram official with Weyand in April 2022, Liukin wrote an essay for Bustle about how she couldn’t imagine her life post-retirement.

“My goal was to be a gold medal-winning gymnast, and I achieved that — a lifelong dream — at the ripe age of 18," she wrote. "In that moment, I was, of course, happy, but I was also incredibly unsettled by the uncertainty of my future. What would I do? Who would I be without gymnastics?”

Now, Liukin is focused on family, friends and Weyand. In an Instagram tribute for her boyfriend's birthday in August 2023, the former gymnast opened up about their connection.

"You have taken the phrase 'to know you is to love you' to a level I’ve never full [sic] experienced. And I am very lucky to get to love you and all of your incredible qualities that make you, YOU - every single day," she wrote in the caption. "Your genuine enthusiasm for life, and the people in your life is truly remarkable. Thank you for showing and reminding me that every single day."

Liukin announced their relationship on Instagram

The couple haven't talked about their first meeting publicly. Still, they occasionally post about each other on Instagram — Liukin and Weyand even debuted their relationship status on the social media platform.

Liukin went Instagram official with Weyand in April 2022. The photo carousel included a cute shot of the pair cuddled up alongside several vacation photos from their time together on a tropical getaway in Costa Rica.

"The best days (with you) here," she wrote in the caption.

Weyand works in finance

Weyand works for Trive Capital as the operations vice president of finance, according to the company's website.

He received an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Oklahoma and a master's degree in corporate finance from Southern Methodist University.

During his time at the University of Oklahoma, Weyand played football. He poked fun at his time on the field with an Instagram post in 2019.

"Not doing a #10yearchallenge, but rather, a #tbt to the time I achieved the pinnacle of success as a student-athlete," he wrote alongside a photo of his "player of the week" award.

They share a love of sports

It's no secret that Liukin is a big sports fan — after winning individual and team Olympic medals with one of the most popular American gymnastics team rosters, attending sporting events is just a part of her life.

Liukin and Weyand were photographed at the ESPYs in 2023 with Liukin's BFF, fellow gymnast Shawn Johnson. The couple have also posted about attending football games and sports charity events together.

He is very outdoorsy

Weyand often posts on Instagram about his outdoor adventures, including surfing, biking and golfing. He even celebrated his birthday in August 2020 with a bike ride.

"To celebrate being a year older, I decided to ride almost twice as far as I ever have," Weyand wrote under an image of him holding up his bike. "It ended up being a an incredible (albeit painful 😰) ride."

Liukin has praised Weyand on social media

The couple often post about their relationship on Instagram — Weyand has even called himself a proud "Instagram boyfriend."

In Liukin's 2023 birthday post for her beau, she shared how much she enjoys spending each day with Weyand and admires his work ethic.

She wrapped up the loving caption by writing, "Here’s to many more fun days, adventures, sunsets, and maybe even bike rides together. I love you!"

Weyand has learned about gymnastics from Liukin

The couple posted a joint video on Instagram in April 2023 featuring Weyand trying to copy some of Liukin's moves. "CRYING RIGHT NOW," they wrote in the caption.

Weyand attempted a headstand and tried to hit his mark as Liukin effortlessly executed the same trick in front of him. Things took a turn when Weyand transitioned into a handstand and fell on his back while Liukin giggled.

They love to travel together

Weyand and Liukin have traveled the globe together, from romantic trips to Paris to adventurous vacations in Hawaii. Alongside photos of the pair hiking and swimming in various tropical destinations, Weyand has also posted beautiful photographs of landscapes and animals.

The pair have also spent time in Montana at a ranch that Weyand has called the "Southside of Heaven."
