Lindsey, a Georgia native, attended Belmont University and has been crafting hit songs ever since.

Her songs have been recorded by Lady Gaga, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Avicii, Florida Georgia Line, Kacey Musgraves, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, Gary Allan, Lady A and many others.

Lindsey penned some of the biggest hits in current country music, such as “Girl Crush" by Little Big Town, Keith Urban’s “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take The Wheel.”

Lindsey is also to thank for songs “Always Remember Us This Way” and “Million Reasons” from "A Star Is Born" with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. Her songs have been used in films "Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader," "Where The Heart," "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2," "Hannah Montana The Movie," among many others.

In 2022, Hillary was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

Before the induction ceremony, Lindsey spoke with The Tennessean. “It's like blind dating at first,” she said of the songwriting process. “And you either get the feeling or you don't. And for me, that's kind of what it's all about.”

“But then it never fails. You go in and you write something and you get those goosebumps. And you get the fire all over again.”

And now—that fire has led Lindsey to The Songwriters Hall of Fame.

In a statement, SHOF chairman Nile Rodgers said, “We are … very proud that we are continually recognizing some of the culturally most important songwriters of all time and that the 2024 slate represents not just iconic songs but also diversity and unity across genres, ethnicity and gender, songwriters who have enriched our lives and literally enriched music and the lives of billions of listeners all over the world.”
