With the Nashville Reunion Concert tour right around the corner, Chris Carmack had to put himself through quite the mid-SAG-AFTRA strike makeover, as seen in an amusing video posted to his Instagram page.
The video (embedded below) portends to capture the moment that Sam Palladio, one of the tour’s four headliners, invited Carmack to join in the reunion — if only for two “One Night-Only” nights.

Carmack, currently a member of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy cast, is among the thousands of actors who have been on strike since July 14. As such, he has been letting a “strike beard” run wild. So upon accepting Palladio’s invitation, an on-camera makeover commenced for the “washed-up,” snack food-inhaling Carmack — face-shearing and all.
Announced back in April, the Nashville Reunion Tour is headlined by Nashville vets Palladio (who played Gunnar Scott on the six-season ABC drama), Clare Bowen (Scarlett O’Connor), Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne) and Jonathan Jackson (Avery Barkley). The tour’s first stop is Chicago’s Rosemont Theatre on Sept. 23, where Carmack (who played Will Lexington) will join his four former castmates. Carmack will also participate on Sept. 25 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, before the four headliners head across the pond for shows in Scotland, England and Wales.
