A new mural promoting Taylor Swift's highly anticipated album, "The Tortured Poets Department" is going up outside of Grimey's New & Preloved Music in East Nashville.

Two muralists were bringing the album artwork to life by the record store's front door on Wednesday. The shop expects fans to line up Friday morning to get one of the four vinyl variants of "Tortured Poets": "The Manuscript," "The Bolter," "The Albatross" and "The Black Dog."

The record store has had a longstanding relationship with Swift. In 2022, Grimey's painted a mural after the Eras Tour singer was dubbed the first ever "global ambassador for Record Store Day," a day she marked on a virtual calendar animation released Tuesday night. This year's ambassador is one of her opening acts, Paramore.

Grimey's owner Doyle Davis talked about the excitement surrounding her latest project and the four variants: "Taylor's brilliant. She not only streams extraordinarily well, but she is an artist who does not ignore the physical market. A lot of artists don't release a vinyl until a year after the fact when the market has cooled down. I admire and respect Taylor for offering us a piece of the game right from the get-go."

The record shop will open at 11 a.m. on Friday.
