There was a noticeable absence of full-throttle, high-octane action over the weekend as NASCAR hit pause, marking its one break of the season. That said, just because the elite drivers of the Cup Series weren’t racing against one another in an event over the weekend, don’t think they didn’t find a way to still go head-to-head in another type of competition: who had the best weekend away from the track!

Kyle and Samantha Busch’s trip to St. Lucia

If you are one of the top drivers in the Cup Series like Kyle Busch, you spare no expense, especially when it comes to the family vacation, but Rowdy may have outdone himself with his latest jaunt to St. Lucia. Nestled away in the Caribbean between Martinique and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia is an island gem, boasting unmatched beauty between the rugged twin peaks of the Pitons and the island’s picturesque beaches, so, naturally, the Queen of the Cup Series, Mrs. Samantha Busch gifted Instagram with some equally spectacular, bikini-filled snaps of her, Rowdy and the kids soaking up the sun. Though he's enjoying a highly productive season with three wins and five top-five finishes, plunging into the cerulean blue depths of their luxurious resort pools and trekking up a mountain on a four-hour hike with his son might be just what the doctor ordered for Busch to recharge and refocus as the Cup Series cruises into the second half of its 2023 season.

Bubba and Amanda Wallace hike in Hawaii

Sometimes you just need to get out of Dodge and, judging by the smile on his face, jetting off to Hawaii looks to have done Bubba Wallace some good. Michael Jordan’s 23XI wheelman got a little dirty with his wife Amanda during their 2.3-mile roundtrip hike of the moderately challenging Pihea Vista Trail in Kaua’i, Hawaii, but a view of the sparkling Pacific like the one featured at the end of trek is worth a couple muddy bottoms. Currently ranked 15th in the standings, the Mobile, Alabama native is still hunting for his first win of 2023, though he’s scored five top-10 finishes.

Ricky and Madyson Joye Stenhouse enjoy Cabo

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and his wife Madyson Joye Stenhouse ventured down south to the pearl of the Baja peninsula, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In addition to enjoying some perfect weather on a boat ride and dining at Flora Farms’ mouth-watering restaurant, the 2023 Daytona 500 winner took in a myriad of tranquil sunsets with his better half during their trip to across the southern border. With one victory under his belt and five top-10s, the JTG Daugherty wheelman looks to finish strong as he targets making a competitive run deep into the playoffs.

Ryan Blaney and girlfriend Gianna Tulio stay out West

Ryan Blaney and his girlfriend Gianna Tulio spent their weekend away from Cup Series competition out west as Gianna competed in the Better Half Dash for Motor Racing Outreach. Comprised of 14 female racers, the Better Half Dash is a 15-lap event where participants race go-karts for a shot at winning $10,000 for charity. While Tulio's 12th-place finish suggests she won’t be stealing Blaney’s thunder behind the wheel anytime soon, it wasn’t all business for Blaney and Tulio as the couple also spent some time sightseeing at vineyards in the area and enjoying some wine in Downtown Napa. Having notched one win and four top-five finishes, Blaney’s enjoying a career-best season as the Team Penske driver currently resides in third place among all Cup Series competitors.

Kyle Larson’s tribute from wife Katelyn Larson

While we're not sure exactly how Kyle Larson spent his time away from the track, wherever he was during his weekend, he enjoyed a touching Father’s Day tribute from his loving wife, Katelyn Larson. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion might be even more of a “pro dad” than he is racer as he and “Shotgun Sweetie” share three children together. Though the Elk Grove, California native is currently ranked 10th in the Cup Series standings, hampered by five DNF’s, Yung Money is a perennial threat to make a run at the title, so perhaps a quiet weekend with a little R&R was just what he needed to prepare himself for the remaining races of the season.

Happy belated Father’s Day to all the dads out there, on and off the race track.
