Naomi Biden Shares Video of Sentimental Dance with Grandfather Joe Biden at Her Wedding on First Anniversary

Naomi Biden shared a touching moment with her grandfather President Joe Biden at her wedding to husband Peter Neal last year.

In honor of her first anniversary, the president's granddaughter, 29, and her husband shared a video of memories from the happy day. And among the footage included a special moment in which Naomi shared a sweet dance with President Biden.

“One year ago today 🤍,” the couple wrote in a joint caption.

President Biden — who turned 81 Monday — was seen in the video holding hands with Naomi as the two danced in front of guests at the reception. He smiled wide in a classic black tuxedo with a black bow tie and white button-down shirt. She wore wore a strapless white bridal gown with white sheer gloves.

"Welcome to the White House," the president said in a speech in the clip. "It’s a great honor to live here and it is an enormous enormous debt I owe the American people. But it’s never quite felt like home until today."

“As I was sitting and listening to the love of my life, my girl…it feels like home,” he continued. “I look around here and I see families becoming family. And a family of this family. Our brothers, our sisters, our nephews, our nieces and everyone. And so this much I enjoy.”

Other footage in the video showed a multitude of emotional moments from the beautiful day, including the newlywed's extended family gathering on the Truman Balcony of the White House, which was dressed in white flowers.

The president and first lady Jill Biden were also captured walked into the wedding reception hand-in-hand together. “It is with such great joy that I welcome you to the White House for the celebration of the marriage of Naomi and Peter,” Dr. Biden said as she stood on a podium during the reception.

Naomi was also seen dancing with father Hunter Biden at her wedding.

“Peter, I could not have hoped for someone that was more brillant, handsome, loyal and generous a person for my daughter than you,” Hunter, 53, said in a speech in the clip.

In other shots, wedding guests danced and mingled on a huge dancelfoor that was covered in silver balloons as several musical acts performed. Elsewhere during the reception, Naomi and her husband were filmed cutting into the first slice of their multi-tiered wedding cake that towered above them.

The pair’s fairytale wedding ceremony was also showcased in the video as a chorus group sang outside of the White House and bells chimed. White chairs were also seen laid out on the White House South Lawn beside a white aisle with white flowers at the side.

In one shot, Naomi stood in the Blue Room in a white lace wedding dress and sweeping veil. She was later seen sharing an emotional moment with dad Hunter in the same room as he kissed her and they embraced.

The new husband-and-wife were seen in several sweet moments together in the video as they walked on the White House lawn hand-in-hand after the nuptials and kissed on the Truman balcony.

Naomi made another outfit change into a white corset top and white tailored pants with a white cape as she joined Neal at the reception dinner.

“Peter, I want you to know…I have prayed for Naomi since the day you were born,” Neal’s mother, Mary Neal, said at the wedding reception. “Peter and Naomi, I first want you to take a moment to look around. I want you to look at every person who’s here. Because these are the people who love you the very most on this planet,” she later added.

In an emotional speech, Naomi’s sister Finnegan Biden paid tribute to their uncle Beau Biden, who died in 2015. “I’m not going to say anymore because I’ll cry…but Uncle Beau would have been so proud of you.” the 23-year-old said.

“Peter, you are the piece of our puzzle we didn’t know was missing,” Naomi’s sister Maisy Biden tearfully said in her speech. “And now that you’ve completed us I can’t imagine life without you and Naomi together.

The 22-year-old added, “I think this speech will never be fully finished because you’re love is neverending.”

Naomi became the first grandchild of a sitting president to get married at the White House to Neal last November in the first wedding there in almost a decade.

The wedding comes after Naomi, who is a Columbia Law graduate and the eldest daughter of Hunter and ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, and Neal, who interned for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and at the White House, got engaged in September 2021.
