Nancy Grace to Exit HLN After 11 Years
Former prosecutor turned broadcaster/victims’ rights champion Nancy Grace is exiting HLN, where she has hosted her eponymous current affairs program since February 2005.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grace broke the news to her staff on Thursday morning, and will end her run when her contract expires in October.
“Nancy has worked tirelessly on behalf of the missing and exploited for more than a decade on HLN,” CNN EVP Ken Jautz told THR. “During her remarkable career at HLN, she led the coverage of two of this century’s most talked about and infamous trials, Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias. We will always be champions of Nancy’s mission and are excited to see what’s next for her.”
Grace did not immediately make clear her reasons for leaving, or what exactly she will do next. Prior to her run on HLN (fka Headline News), she hosted Court TV’s Closing Arguments.
A new program that “utilize[s] the expertise of the current team” will replace Nancy Grace in the 8/7 time slot, starting Monday, Oct. 17.
