Sep. 14—It's not too early to think about holiday shopping.

Vendors can apply for the Buy Local Holiday Marketplace at Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple, 420 N. Washington Ave., through Saturday, Sept. 30.

Now in its 11th year, around 100 vendors selling handmade gifts, treats and more will take over five floors of the building on Sunday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the marketplace costs $4 per person.

It's a juried application process for vendors. For more information, visit sccmt.org/buylocal or email buylocal@sccmt.org.

LHS to host history game show

Put your knowledge of local history to the test.

The Lackawanna Historical Society hosts its live game show "You Live Here; You Should Know This" on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Ritz Theater and Performing Arts Center, 222 Wyoming Ave., Scranton. The program starts at 4 p.m.

Students from Valley View and Riverside high schools created the game show. Players will answer fast-paced Jeopardy-style questions about people, places and events in Lackawanna County, with special categories posed by local celebrity hosts. Winners will receive bragging rights for one year as "Local History Legends of Lore."

Last year's winners Owen Worozbyt, director of operations for Lackawanna Heritage Valley, and Gerard Hetman, community development specialist at NeighborWorks, will return to defend their title. The program will be recorded and posted to YouTube.

Tickets can be purchased at the door only. Admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for students. For more information, call 570-344-3841 or email lackawannahistory@gmail.com.
