Statue of Democratic nominee is sparking a discussion about whether or not the statue is appropriate or acceptable.
Yvan Schmidt: Until Zimbabwe (read: Mugabe) started taking farms from the white owners, to give to his political cronies, they were "the breadbasket of Southern Africa," and agriculture was the lynchpin of their economy. Now, Zimbabwe can't even feed their own people, they have almost no foreign exchange, because agricultural products made-up more than 90% of their exports, the sole source of their foreign exchange (other than foreign aid), and the economy is so stagnant that unemployment is at EIGHTY percent. Just consider: At the very worst peak unemployment for the US during the Great Depression, unemployment hit 25%. How does one even conceive of 80% of the able-bodied population being without a job, especially in a nation with NO food stamps, NO unemployment benefits, and NO Mugabe Phones?
