Nacar Zadegan & Lyndon Smith Join ‘Extant’ As Recurring
Necar Zadegan (Girlfriends Guide To Divorce) and Lyndon Smith (Parenthood) are the latest cast additions for the upcoming second season of CBS’ summer drama series Extant. Zadegan will recur as Shayna Velez (fka Martine), a former Lt. Colonel, now Chief of Staff to Tobias Shepherd (David Morrissey), head of Global Security Commission (threat assessment center.) Strong, smart, opinionated, her agenda doesn’t always jive with her boss’s — which may bring her into direct conflict with Molly Woods (Halle Berry), Smith, repped by Don Buchwald & Assoc. and Main Title, will recur as JD Richter’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) estranged and rebellious daughter.
In Season 2, astronaut Woods discovers she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction and that she and a mysterious stranger might be the only hope for survival. Zadegan and Smith join new regulars Morrissey and Morgan, and returning Berry, Pierce Gagnon and Grace Gummer. In addition to Girlfriend’s Guide, Zadegan recently wrapped an arc on Legends. She also was a series regular on Rake. Smith also has a series regular role on TNT’s Public Morals, which airs this summer.
