Whoopi Goldberg turned around in her chair to address the interruption live on air.

The View's years-long, on-air battle with sonic phantoms reached a new fever pitch — this time, during a discussion about "hoes."

Monday's live broadcast saw Whoopi Goldberg introduce a Hot Topic about a woman's steamy affair with one of her sisters' husbands, and the table went wild with reactions — so, too, did an unidentified digital device that chimed in from off-camera.

"This is what I don't understand. If you're going to cheat, if you're going to be the hoe sister..." Sunny Hostin said, before a light noise that can only be described as some sort of fairy sparkle sounded behind Goldberg, distracting the hosts while Hostin spoke.

Seeing as Taraji P. Henson was not in attendance for the ladies to blame (like she was in 2023), Goldberg instead identified the noise-maker of unknown origin as a fictional animated character.

"I hear Peter Pan!" the 68-year-old said, turning around in her seat to face the sonic entity.

Hostin then continued with her assessment. "If you're going to be the hoe sister in the situation, you don't tell your parents you're the hoe sister," Hostin said. "You just carry that nasty, horrible curse with you."

Goldberg butted in with a hilarious response: "Why you so mean to hoes?" she asked as the audience laughed. "I don't like hoes," Hostin responded. "I'll be honest."

EW has reached out to a representative for The View for more information on the origin of the mystery noise.

Monday's aural occurrence is the second instance of ear-based terrorism on The View so far this year, as a loud crashing sound clapped through the studio during the Jan. 3 broadcast. So far in 2024, nothing has approached the level of on-set chaos as the nefarious fart noise that came after an epic water spillage at the Hot Topics table in early 2023.
