The 'Mystery Gang' Is Back With a New Computer Animated Film, 'SCOOB!'

A good chunk of childhood memories comes from sitting in front of the TV in your PJ's watching the mystery gang. Mysteries Inc. has for years been a part of children's childhoods and looks like it's here to stay.

Since its first appearance in 1969, Scooby-Doo has gotten many revamps on screen. The show went from a Saturday-morning cartoon to a live-action film and solo animated films. The show is a cult classic with characters who seem to never change their style.

In 2014, Warner Bros. made the official announcement the famous television show was going to be turned into an animated film. The film will star the same beloved characters; Velma, Fred, Shaggy, Daphne and Scooby. This time the animation looks a little more lifelike in the facial features.

This past March the cast lineup for the characters was revealed. Fred Welker, who originally voiced Fred in 1969 and lent his voice for Fred in 2002, will maintain his role and voice Scooby.

Alongside Zac Efron is Will Forte as Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez as Velma and Amanda Seyfried as Daphne.

The film is meant to weave into a cinematic universe of Hanna-Barbera properties.Hanna- Barbera properties include animations like The Flintstones, Tom & Jerry, Yogi Bear show and others.

The film also includes Ken Jeong, Tracy Morgan, Mark Wahlberg, Jason Isaacs, and Kiersey Clemons who will voice characters from Hanna-Barbera.

While there have been many reboots of the show, fans are intrigued to see the nostalgic characters come back to life on the big screen.

The film still holds true to the characters' everyday clothing and style. Daphne in her purple dress, pink tights, red hair and lime green collar. Velma stays true to her thick orange turtle neck and bob cut, which is totally in style. Fred, on the other hand, has put away his orange ascot and white sweater for something a bit more sporty.

Sneak peek images of the film show Fred wearing a plain white T-shirt, with a hint of orange, and white bomber jacket.

The first official trailer is set to premiere on November 11th. Hopefully, we get to see the famous Scooby snacks make an appearance. It would not do the show justice if Shaggy and Scooby are not coerced by Daphne with some Scooby snacks. Solving mysteries is hard work and they deserve a treat.

The film was originally set to be released in September of last year. 'Scoob!' is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures next year on May 15th.
