Mysterious Green Goblin Puzzles Viewers on the Emmys Red Carpet — But Who Is the Reality Star Behind the Look?

Princess Polly Goblin 2023 EmmysA mysterious green goblin caused quite the stir at the 2023 Emmys Awards on Monday night.
While attending the star-studded show, reality TV star Princess Poppy showed up as the scary monster, which caused a bit of awe and confusion among viewers at home.
While her fellow cast mates dressed to the nines, RuPaul's Drag Race star Princess Poppy showed up in a head-to-toe green ensemble that also included pop culture references like Jabba the Hutt, Roz from Monsters, Inc., and a witch from the 1985 Tom Cruise movie Legend.
And the outfit played exactly the way she thought it would.

"I wanted to do the exact opposite of what is expected of you when you go to an event like this. I wanted to take decorum and turn it on its head," Poppy told Entertainment Weekly while on the red carpet.
"Mainly I wanted to be a troll-slash-hag. I wanted to be so shocking that you just have to turn and look at me — in the worst way possible."

Princess Polly dressed as the Green GoblinOver-the-top as the ensemble may have been, it was quite apropos as Drag Race continued its reality television domination at the Emmy Awards. The long-running series won outstanding reality competition program.
During his acceptance speech, the show's host RuPaul also took a moment to send out a call to action, saying, "If a drag queen wants to read you a story at a library, listen to her because knowledge is power, and if someone tries to restrict your access to power, they are trying to scare you. So listen to a drag queen!"

The franchise also expanded into Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. Celebrities like Leslie Jones, Lizzo, Leah Remini, Lady Gaga and Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams have all served as guest judges on the show.
RuPaul remains the most decorated Black artist in Emmys history.
