Music of Vivaldi, Taylor Swift, Tchaikovsky to be performed at Erie Candlelight Concerts

Candles — thousands of them — and hits by Vivaldi, Taylor Swift and Tchaikovsky are coming to Erie in a trio of concerts starting this weekend.

The Candlelight Concerts, a multi-sensory musical experience, will be presented by Fever, a live-entertainment discovery platform. Erie will join more than 100 cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Madrid, Paris, Singapore and Sydney, that have hosted such performances, according to a news release from Fever.

Here's what you need to know if you want to go:

What are Candlelight Concerts?

The original musical concerts were created by Fever with a goal of allowing people all over the world to enjoy live music performances in various stunning locations illuminated by thousands of flameless LED candles, officials said. Performers vary and include string quartets and pianists.

Initially conceived as a classical music series featuring works from composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart and Chopin, the growing list of programs includes a wide variety of themes and genres, such as tributes to contemporary artists like Queen, ABBA, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran, as well as shows dedicated to K-Pop, movie soundtracks and more, the release said. The concerts invite a broader audience that might have never considered a classical music concert before as well as allow people to listen to the top hits of well-known artists in a different way.
