Zach Bryan, Vince Gill and Pentatonix are among the musical stars with Oklahoma ties to earn nominations for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, while Americana standout Jason Isbell nabbed a nod for his song "King of Oklahoma."

Oklahoma natives Gill and St. Vincent joined fellow past Grammy winners Jon Bon Jovi, Kim Petras, Muni Long, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Samara Joy and Arooj Aftab in helping announce Friday the 2024 nominees in many of the 94 awards categories.

Here's what you need to know about this year's Grammy nominees with Oklahoma ties:

Zach Bryan earns three more Grammy nominations

After garnering his first Grammy nod last year, up-and-coming country music superstar Zach Bryan, who hails from Oologah, earned three Grammy nominations this year.

The prolific singer, songwriter and producer shares two 2024 nominations with six-time Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves: They are nominated for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their smash single "I Remember Everything."

Bryan also nabbed a nomination for Best Country Album for his acclaimed chart-topping collection "Zach Bryan.”

Vince Gill receives his 48th Grammy nomination

Along with helping to announce this year's nominees, Gill received on Friday his 48th career Grammy nomination.

Born in Norman and raised in Oklahoma City, the celebrated singer, songwriter and guitarist shares his latest nomination with steel guitarist and vocalist Paul Franklin. They are nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Kissing Your Picture (Is So Cold)," from their collaborative tribute album "Sweet Memories: The Music of Ray Price & The Cherokee Cowboys."

"What I am most proud of is being nominated with Paul. His friendship and musicianship is unparalleled," Gill said in a statement about his 48th Grammy nomination.

It's the first Grammy nomination for Franklin.

“After decades of playing music with my friend Vince, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine a Grammy nomination. This is too cool!" Franklin said in a statement.

Starting in 1990, when he won for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for his hit ballad "When I Call Your Name," Gill has earned 22 golden gramophone trophies, making him the male country artist with the most Grammy victories.

Pentatonix garners another holiday Grammy nomination

The holiday season just wouldn't be as merry without a new set of a cappella carols by Pentatonix, the vocal quintet featuring former University of Oklahoma student Kirstin Maldonado.

The popular vocal group — which already has three Grammys to its name, including one for its Christmasy arrangement of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" — is competing for another golden gramophone for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for their sixth yuletide collection, "Holidays Around The World."

Pentatonix was nominated in the same category last year for their 2021 holiday album "Evergreen," but Canadian crooner Michael Buble took home the 2023 Grammy with his collection "Higher."

'Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3' soundtrack, featuring Flaming Lips, lands a Grammy nomination

The soundtrack for the third "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Awesome Mix, Vol. 3," landed a Grammy nomination in the Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media category.

Director James Gunn famously packed his "Guardians of the Galaxy" films with beloved hits, with the third cinematic installment's soundtrack ranging from “Since You Been Gone” by Rainbow and “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” by the Beastie Boys to “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine and “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone.

The soundtrack also features OKC Grammy-winning art-rockers The Flaming Lips' emotional anthem "Do You Realize??," which in 2009 was named Oklahoma's official state rock song.

Jason Isbell gets three more Grammy nominations, including for 'King of Oklahoma'

Americana star Jason Isbell isn't from Oklahoma — he's an Alabama native based in Nashville, Tennessee — but he and his band The 400 Unit netted three Grammy nominations from an album he largely worked on in the Sooner State.

Isbell wrote most of their acclaimed 2023 album "Weathervanes" in 2021 while working in Oklahoma on Martin Scorsese's cinematic epic "Killers of the Flower Moon," in which the singer-songwriter makes his acting debut.

"I was exposed to a lot of people that I didn't know, people that I didn't see every day. And I spent a lot of time either on my own or just sort of bumming around Bartlesville, Oklahoma. And it was really great for the songwriting process," Isbell told NPR.

"Weathervanes" is nominated for Best Americana Album, and Isbell, already a four-time Grammy winner, earned a nod as the songwriter of the album track "Cast Iron Skillet" in the Best American Roots Song category.

He and his bandmates' third 2024 Grammy nomination is for Best Americana Performance for their addiction ode "King of Oklahoma."
