Apr. 24—The 2024 Clovis Music Festival is in the books, but local live music continues this week in Portales, highlighted by country star Rodney Atkins' performing Saturday night at Greyhound Arena.

Atkins has six No. 1 singles, eight top-five singles and 3.8 billion career streams, according to a news release from Eastern New Mexico University.

Atkins headlines the third annual spring country music concert. The night begins with a VIP dinner in the south gym of Greyhound Arena. The dinner features ENMU student musicians Hannah Gaudry and Zachary Townsend performing live from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., local musician Matt Ancira takes the main stage at Greyhound Arena. "Ancira has been a part of the local music scene for the past 25 years," the ENMU news release states.

Mason & the Gin Line from Lubbock will follow Ancira, then Atkins performs.

Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at:

"ENMU continues its efforts to be a good community partner and do our part to bring great music and entertainment to our community," said ENMU President James Johnston. "I hope to see you out and about to enjoy the live music."

More live music this week in Portales, according to the ENMU news release:

On Wednesday, Uncle Mike's will feature the band One Side Surrender and local musician Brannon Oliver. This night will feature a food drive where patrons can bring their canned goods and non-perishable items to donate to the community.

On Friday, live music continues at two venues in Portales, with Portales' Full Circle Band taking the stage at Uncle Mike's and the Eastern New Mexico-based band Mammoth Cults taking the stage at Runnerz Cantina.

An afternoon and evening of live music continues Saturday at Enchantment Vineyards, with West Texas musician Jim Dixon taking the stage from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
