‘The Muppets Mayhem’ Co-Creator Adam F. Goldberg Vows To Stay In Muppet Biz

The Muppets Mayhem may be history on Disney+, but co-creator Adam F. Goldberg is not ready to say goodbye to his furry friends.

After it was revealed that the live-action series was getting the boot after one season, Goldberg gave an update on X about his future with the Muppets.

“Huge thanks to the critic & fan love that got us 6 Emmy noms and a #1 Billboard album,” he wrote. “Mayhem was truly the most joyful and collaborative experience of my career. From day one all I’ve cared about is creating a Muppet-verse and YES I am already cooking up more Muppets with @billbarretta & @JeffYorkes! IT’s HAPPENING.”

The ten-part Muppets Mayhem was released in May. Disney+ never revealed how well — or how poorly — the series did for the streamer.

Lilly Singh starred as Nora, a driven junior A&R executive tasked with managing and wrangling the band and with her help, the old-school Muppet band came face to face with the current-day music scene as they try to finally go platinum.

Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry and Anders Holm also starred alongside Muppet performers including Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman and Matt Vogel.

The Disney Branded Television series was produced by ABC Signature and The Muppets Studio. It formed part of Goldberg’s overall deal with ABC Signature.

Exec producers include Goldberg, Barretta, Michael Bostick and Kris Eber as well as The Muppets Studio’s David Lightbody and Leigh Slaughter. Yorkes is a co-executive producer.
