As is usually the case with streaming series, Disney did not disclose any viewing information for The Muppets Mayhem. The series has not charted on Nielsen’s top 10 streaming rankings.

Lilly Singh headed the show’s human cast as a young music executive helping the Electric Mayhem record their first studio album. Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry and Anders Holm also starred, along with Muppets performers Matt Vogel, Bill Barretta, Peter Linz, Dave Goelz, David Rudman and Eric Jacobson.

Adam F. Goldberg (The Goldbergs), who created the series with Muppets veteran Barretta and Jeff Yorkes, thanked the show’s viewers on X (formerly Twitter) for their support: “Huge thanks to the critic & fan love that got us 6 Emmy noms and a #1 Billboard album. Mayhem was truly the most joyful and collaborative experience of my career.”

Yorkes wrote in a post of his own, “What a long, strange trip it’s been! The highs (thanks Zoot!), the lows … A huge thank you to our loyal fans and viewers. I hope audiences continue to discover our little show and that it brings them some joy … and some Mayhem!! Rock on!!”

Goldberg also wrote that despite the cancellation, more Muppets series could be in the offing at Disney: “From day one all I’ve cared about is creating a Muppet-verse and YES I am already cooking up more Muppets with [Barretta and Yorkes]. IT’S HAPPENING!!!”

The Muppets Mayhem was the second original series featuring the characters at Disney+, following the shortform Muppets Now from 2020. A Halloween special, Muppets Haunted Mansion, premiered on the streamer in 2021.

Goldberg and Barretta executive produced The Muppets Mayhem with Michael Bostick, Kris Eber, David Lightbody and Leigh Slaughter. Yorkes was a co-exec producer.
