In celebration of the 45th Anniversary of The Muppet Movie, Universal Pictures and Fathom Events have partnered up for the upcoming special screenings of the classic musical comedy from producer and star Jim Henson.

The 1979 movie is officially heading back to theaters nationwide on Sunday, June 2 at 1PM and 7PM location, and on Monday, June 3 at 7PM local time. Each screenings will include an introduction by renowned film historian and critic Leonard Maltin, as he discusses the lasting legacy of Jim Henson and his beloved creations, which continue to captivate and inspire new generations of viewers.

Tickets for the special screenings are available at Fathom Events, or at participating theater box offices.

The Muppet Movie was directed by James Frawley from a script co-written by Jerry Juhl and Jack Burns. Besides Henson, the film featured the voices of Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, Dave Goelz and Caroll Spinney. Meanwhile, the live-action cast included Charles Durning, Austin Pendleton, H.B. Haggerty, Bruce Kirby, and James Frawley along with guest stars Carol Kane, Bob Hope, Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Mel Brooks, Cloris Leachman, Orson Welles and more. The film received two Oscar nominations including Best Original Song and Best Original Song Score.
