Stephen Sommers' action-adventure flick The Mummy is returning to theaters this year in celebration of its 25th anniversary.

The 1999 film will return to theaters for one week starting April 25. The Mummy starred Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in the lead roles of Rick O'Connell and Evelyn Carnahan, a former legionnaire and English librarian who join forces to reach Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead. Joined by Evelyn's brother Jonathan (John Hannah), they race against another group of adventurers to reach the ancient city, where they accidentally awaken the cursed priest Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo).

The Mummy was a box office success, earning a total of $416.4 million USD against a budget of $80 million USD. Although initial reactions to the film were mixed, it has since become a fan-favorite and went on to spawn the sequels The Mummy Returns, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and the spinoff The Scorpion King with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
