Muhammad Ali is set to storm the ring in the upcoming WWE 2K24 game as a special guest character. On Tuesday (Feb. 6), 2K Games revealed the trailer on social media. It showed off an abundance of content for the wrestling game and emphasized the 40th anniversary of Wrestlemania.

Towards the latter end of the video, the legendary boxer hits his signature “Ali Shuffle” in the center of the ring. He could be seen rocking his all-white trunks, Everlast boxing shoes, tape wrapped around his fists, and iconic robe. “The Greatest is about to enter the ring,” the game’s official account posted to Instagram.

While Ali appears to be out of place for a roster slot in the upcoming game—it’s not random. Muhammad Ali served as a special “outside” guest referee during Wrestlemania I. He appeared during the tag team match between Hulk Hogan and Mr. T against Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper.

The teaser trailer also showed off a plethora of wrestlers that are set to be playable. Characters including Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Cena, Bret Hart, Rey Mysterio, Charlotte Flair, Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, Kevin Owens, and Solo Sikoa all appeared in the hype visual. WWE 2K24‘s trailer also stated that the game will boast over 200 characters in the game.

Additionally, fans were treated to exciting game modes, including the ambulance match, backstage brawls, casket matches, the ability to control a special guest referee, and, of course, a showcase mode celebrating Wrestlemania’s rich history.

WWE 2K24 is set to hit consoles on March 8. The game will be available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X, and the PC. If fans are eager to play the game, they can purchase the Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition. Upon purchase, fans can access the game three days earlier on March 5.
