MTV 'Are You the One' Stars Mourn Death of Co-Contestant Alexis Eddy on Instagram

Season 6 stars of MTV's "Are You the One" mourned co-contestant Alexis Eddy on Instagram Thursday after news broke that police found her dead in her West Virginia home.

People explains Mannington Police responded to a call for help at 7 AM. Thursday. Upon arrival, they found that 23-year-old Eddy had suffered cardiac arrest and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet confirmed whether they expect foul play in Eddy's death and the matter is still being investigated.

Her "perfect match" Anthony Martin shared his shock and condolences in his post.

On "Are You the One" contestants compete to find out who their "perfect match" is. This person is another cast member decided by experts to be their most compatible match.

In Alexis' case, her answers on the show most aligned with Anthony Martin and it was revealed at the end of their season that they were perfect matches to the surprise of many fans.

While the two did not develop a love connection, they did have a strong friendship. He expressed his sadness on Instagram after hearing the news with the final send off " I love you so much Alexis and you will forever be missed. R.I.P. PM."

MTV also released an official statement on the "Are You the One" Twitter account honoring Alexis.

"MTV is deeply saddened to heard about the tragic loss of Alexis Eddy. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time," the tweet reads.

Fellow cast members also expressed their shock and sadness about the news on social media.

In an Instagram story post, co-contestant Uche Nwosu wrote, "Shocked and heartbroken hearing the news this morning. We lost a major part of our AYTO6/MTV family today. Every single person had their own special relationship with Alexis and she impacted so many in her own unique way. I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to have known Alexis Eddy in this lifetime. Please check on your friends, even the strong ones. Life is so short. I love you, rest easy."

Alexis celebrated sobriety in September.

The tragic news comes just months after Alexis Eddy announced her sobriety in September on Instagram. Despite being open about her drug use and hard-partying past on the show, Eddy had seemed to turn a new leaf in her recovery journey.

However, while her spirits were up about her sobriety in September, fans noticed Eddy's love life in decline. While she had previously hinted at an engagement, suddenly the pictures disappeared and she made mention of looking for a new boyfriend in December.

Fans are crushed by the loss.

Fans of Alexis responded to MTV's statement on Twitter, expressing their heartbreak over the loss.
