MTV EMAs Heads to Dusseldorf for 2022 – Global Bulletin
Paramount today revealed Dusseldorf in Germany will be the host city for the 2022 MTV European Music Awards. German host Hadnet Tesfai (pictured above) was on hand to make the announcement.
The awards will take place at the PSD Bank Dome on Nov. 13. It is the sixth time the event will have been hosted in Germany since 1994.

The EMAs will be broadcast live on MTV across 170 countries. Last year’s event was held in Hungary and hosted by Saweetie, with performances from Ed Sheeran, Maluma and Imagine Dragons, among others.
The host, nominees and performers for this year’s event will be announced in the coming months.
“There is no other event like the ‘MTV EMAs’ which connects audiences in every corner of the world to their favorite artists,” said Raffaele Annecchino, president and CEO of international networks, studios, and streaming at Paramount. “We can’t wait to head back to Germany to bring today’s biggest stars, young changemakers and superfans together for the ultimate global music celebration.”
FINANCE MARKET
The Film London Production Finance Market, an annual two-day film financing event held during the BFI London Film Festival, is returning in person for the first time in three years.
The market contains two strands: the main strand is for feature film projects (including animation and documentary) with budgets over €1 million ($1.07 million) and the new talent strand is for budgets below €1 million ($1.07 million).
The sixteenth edition of the market will take place on Oct. 11 and 12.

“Stolen,” a BET+ original film will go into production next month. The thriller is a U.K. and South African co-pro starring Christine Adams (“Tron”), Luka Peros (“Money Heist”), Jimmy Jean Louis (“Tears of the Sun”), Michael Landes (“Cruel Summer”), Alba Amira (“American Night”) and Shantelle Rochester.
Rochester also produces the film, which is a co-production with Ida Rose and ANTS Media, alongside Uzanenkosi Mahlangu.
Sheridan De Myer (“The Re-Up”) directs.
In “Stolen,” which is set to be the first instalment in a film franchise, ex-military vet Seline uses her skills to try and track down her daughter, who has disappeared in South Africa. Seline is soon sucked into an underworld of chaos and organ trafficking.
“This film is a perfect fit for Ida Rose and will begin to move genre independent films to another level as there needs to be more from the U.K. and Africa,” said Ida Rose CEO Rochester. “Being able to create diverse content is a pleasure and I am delighted that all companies involved supported us.”
