MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough found a lot to criticize while reviewing Kyle Rittenhouse’s homicide trial, but saved particular ire for the judge, Bruce Schroeder.

“This judge is just … this judge is an absolute joke. He’s been a joke from the very beginning,” the “Morning Joe” host fumed Thursday after playing a video of Schroeder yelling at the prosecution.

Scarborough pointed out that the prosecution has been prevented from presenting “basic” evidence and added, “This judge, again, it’s absolutely disgusting the way he’s conducting himself on the stand there. He’s obviously playing for the audience — a certain audience.”

Rittenhouse shot three people, killing two, last summer in Kenosha, Wisc., amid ongoing protests against police brutality and systemic racism. His defense team said he acted in self-defense, and Schroeder’s yelling came Wednesday when Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger was cross-examining Rittenhouse about that defense.

“This is a high bar for the prosecution to clear, which is self-defense. How do you get inside the mind of Kyle Rittenhouse? Did he feel like he had to defend his own life?” said “Morning Joe” co-host Willie Geist. Watch above, via MSNBC.
