NBC Hit With Technical Issues at Democratic Debate; Trump Blasts ‘Truly Unprofessional’ Network

NBC was left red-faced during Wednesday night’s Democratic presidential debates when audio issues plagued moderators Chuck Todd and Rachel Maddow.
The incident happened as Todd was about to ask Sen. Elizabeth Warren about gun control in the United States.

“We are hearing our colleague’s audio,” Todd said as voices could be heard offscreen in the auditorium.
Warren and other Democratic candidates appeared confused as the muffle noises continued.
“The control room can turn off the mics,” Maddow could be overheard saying. “If the control room can turn off the mics of the previous moderators.”
Making light of the situation, the MSNBC host later joked, “We prepared for everything except for this.”
President Donald Trump was hardly amused. Following on Twitter, he wrote, “NBC News and MSNBC should be ashamed of themselves for having such a horrible technical breakdown in the middle of the debate. Truly unprofessional and only worthy of a FAKE NEWS Organization, which they are!”

Following the gaffe, NBC quickly cut to commercial before returning with Todd and Maddow vowing to march on from the “technical difficulties.”
Maddow and Todd were two of five different moderators of the Democratic Debate.
