These Are the Movies Leaving Netflix in June to Binge Over the Holiday Weekend
June is going to be a tough month for Disney fans with Netflix. As the House of Mouse prepares its own competitor Disney+, a number of its titles are disappearing from Netflix next month. In addition to losing 101 Dalmatians, we also say goodbye to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Granted, that's just one snippet of what's heading off the streaming service this month.
That's the game though: with every new month, we say goodbye to old films and say hello to new ones. Below are six of our picks to take in this weekend before June 1. You're running out of time, so make it count.
An Extremely Goofy Movie
I mean, it's An Extremely Goofy Movie. That should sell itself alone. It's not as good as A Goofy Movie, but if you're looking for something to pass the time over Memorial Day weekend, it's as good as any, and it expires promptly on June 1.
I Am Legend
Ah, the days when Will Smith was a bonafide movie star. Not to say that he's not a celebrity in his own right, but I Am Legend is the perfect apocalyptic film that captures Smith at his peak. Be warned though: there is a very good dog that does not get a very good ending.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1
The Kill Bill series is Tarantino in peak form. You have Uma Thurman. You have a badass team of assassins. Essentially, it's a movie lover's fantasy. And if you're fast enough, you can get in a viewing of Vol. 2 before it disappears on June 1, as well.
Legally Blonde
I know. It doesn't seem like the kind of movie you'd put in the can't miss section, but Legally Blonde is one of the few 2000s rom coms that continues to hold up. Come for Elle Woods' Harvard-educated legal knowledge. Stay for Linda Cardellini being unrecognizable as a bananas stepdaughter.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The second iteration of one of Marvel's most popular features is expiring early on in the month. This iteration follows Peter Quill and the gang through the universe in hopes that he'll find the answers he's searching for regarding his parentage.
District 9
This excellent sci-fi film features an alien race that has inhabited earth and they live in the isolated area of District 9. But when a human makes his way into their territory the dynamic changes and really sheds a light on the history of humanity. We don't want to give too much away so watch it while you can.
