Christopher Nolan called 70mm IMAX the "best possible experience" of his new movie, "Oppenheimer." And Indianapolis is one of only 19 theaters where you can see it at its best.
The biographical thriller boasts a cast full of stars, including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. It chronicles the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a physicist whose work on the Manhattan Project led to the creation of the first atomic bomb.

What's so special about seeing 'Oppenheimer' in IMAX 70mm?
"Oppenheimer" was filmed using some of the highest-resolution film cameras that exist.
Here's what Nolan told the Associated Press:
"The sharpness and the clarity and the depth of the image is unparalleled. The headline, for me, is by shooting on IMAX 70mm film, you’re really letting the screen disappear. You're getting a feeling of 3D without the glasses. You’ve got a huge screen and you’re filling the peripheral vision of the audience. You're immersing them in the world of the film."
Some sequences use IMAX cameras, and you'll see those expand to fill the entire screen. And if you can't catch the IMAX version, Nolan said the original film was optimized to create the best experience for every other screen.
How long will 'Oppenheimer' be at Indianapolis IMAX?
