The mother of multiple members of a religious group called the "Soldiers of Christ" has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman in Georgia.

Mihee Lee, 54, was arrested on charges of felony murder, false imprisonment, tampering with evidence, concealing the death of another and making false statements Wednesday in connection with the death of 33-year-old Sehee Cho.

Cho was found dead in the trunk of a car parked outside of a South Korean spa located in Duluth on Sept. 12.

According to a Gwinnett Police Department press release, Cho was “apparently subjected to beatings and malnourishment for weeks."

Lee's children, Joonho Lee, 26, Juoonhyum Lee, 22, and Junyeong Lee, 15, are facing charges of felony murder, false imprisonment, tampering with evidence and concealing the death of another. They were arrested last month along with Hyunji Lee, 25, Eric Hyun, 26, and Lee family relative Gawom Lee, 26.

“If any additional probable cause presents itself, more charges could be forthcoming,” Gwinnett Police Sgt. Michele Pihera tells PEOPLE.

Police began investigating Cho’s death on Sept. 12 after Hyun allegedly drove the car with Cho’s body inside the trunk to the Jeju Sauna. There, he parked the car and called a family member to pick him up and take him to a hospital to receive treatment.

While in the hospital, Hyun asked the relative to retrieve a personal item from the vehicle, which is when Cho’s body was discovered in the trunk.

The family member then called 911, police said.

Authorities went on to search a home in Lawrenceville, Ga., and now authorities “believe the basement of this home was where the crime took place,” police said.

Attorney Says His Client Was Victim of Other Suspects

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, an attorney for Eric Hyun said Hyun and Cho were both victims of the group.

Hyun and Cho, said attorney David Boyle, were allegedly recruited by Joonho Lee, and subjected to torture in the Lee's basement at the same time.

“After Ms. Cho arrived in Georgia in July of this year, the Lees kept Ms. Cho in their basement for weeks and physically tortured her under the guise of a religious ritual to provide her entry into their church,” Boyle's statement said. He added that Hyun was also subjected to the group’s “religious extremism.”

“Eric was physically tortured,” Boyle's statement says. “He was beaten with a belt in his genitals and face until he was knocked unconscious. He was stripped naked and shot with an airsoft gun all over his body, causing over a hundred wounds.”

“The Lees used a sanding block to sand the skin off his chest, to indoctrinate him into their religious extremism," says the statement, which adds: "Eric can barely walk."

According to the statement, the Lees allegedly “coerced [Hyun] to wire tens of thousands of dollars to Korea, they maxed out his credit cards, and used his credit to purchase a house in Suwanee for their church.”

Police said Cho moved to Atlanta from South Korea in the summer to join the Soldiers of Christ. When police found her in the trunk, she weighed around 70 lbs.

“The Medical Examiner’s Office believes malnourishment could be a contributing factor to her death,” the Gwinnett police said in a press release.

According to Fox5, Joonho Lee is a student at Emory University. He is being held without bond. Eric Hyun was granted bond. Juoonhyum Lee, Gawom Lee, and Hyunji Lee remain in custody.
