Trump targets Joe Scarborough as 'Morning Psycho' in tweet, says show helped him get elected

Joe Scarborough responded to a jab from President Trump on Tuesday after he referred to the MSNBC Morning Joe co-host as “Morning Psycho” in tweets about morning cable news shows.

Scarborough first reacted on-air by saying, “Hi Donald, how you doing? We love that you watch us.” But co-host Mika Brzezinski was quick to reply with, “No, tell him to stop watching. This is a sickness. He’s gotta stop.”

Scarborough was also quick to respond to Trump’s assertion that Morning Joe helped get him elected in 2016.

“Why thank you,” Scarborough said sarcastically. “I remember you telling Jeff Zucker that you didn’t need CNN, the entire network of CNN, to get elected, but you are saying our show is so powerful that we got you elected. Wow, that’s great!”

Meanwhile, #MorningPsycho quickly began trending on Twitter, as viewers weighed in on the president’s slight.

There were some viewers who supported Trump’s tweets.

But many took issue with the fact that the president was spending his time critiquing cable news morning shows.

Scarborough went on to say that people close to the president say that he watches Morning Joe every day, and the show’s host could only find one phrase to sum it all up.

“He just can't quit us. He just can’t quit us,” Scarborough said.
