Morgan Wallen has experienced significant highs and lows over the course of his record-breaking career, but one thing that’s never wavered is the unconditional support from his sisters, Ashlyne, Mikaela and Lacey.

Growing up in Sneedville, a tight-knit rural town tucked away in the northeast corner of Tennessee, Morgan, Ashlyne and Mikaela were raised on music. Their mother, Leslie Wallen, an educator, found creative ways to bring melodies and lyrics into their everyday lives, while their father, who served as a pastor, introduced them to spiritual music.

“We grew up in church singing hymns and stuff and learning how to harmonize with each other and sing three-part harmony,” Morgan recalled in a Billboard interview.

The Wallen family eventually relocated to Knoxville, where Morgan, Ashlyne and Mikaela attended high school. In 2021, their family expanded when Tom and Leslie adopted Lacey, whom they were fostering at the time.

Morgan has received both notable backlash and praise ever since breaking into the country music industry in 2014. During an interview with The Boot, the “Last Night” singer-songwriter credited his family’s support for fueling his drive to keep on pushing.

"They never held me back, and they never made me feel crazy at all for doing this," he gushed. "That's been a blessing."

Back in May, Ashlyne gave her big brother, whom she affectionately calls “Mo,” a shoutout on Instagram in honor of his 30th birthday.

“Thanks for being the best big brother +best friend. I am so proud of you, your heart, and your genuinity,” she captioned a photo of the two of them.

Here’s everything to know about Morgan Wallen’s sisters and their relationship with the country singer-songwriter.

On the subject of hometowns, two places come to mind for the Wallen clan.

Morgan, Ashlyne and Mikaela were born and raised in Sneedville, Tennessee, which is where their love for music took root. Their father Tommy was a preacher and their mother Leslie worked at a nearby school as a second-grade teacher.

The family later relocated an hour and 30 minutes west to Knoxville, however, when Morgan was a freshman in high school.

“I’ve never lived anywhere else; Tennessee has always been my home,” Morgan told Nashville Lifestyles. “I’m a little further west now than I was growing up, but it’s still a part of what I grew up doing. It’s special to me to be able to represent this place that I love so much.”

With their dad being a preacher and their mom a teacher, Morgan and his sisters naturally grew up in a household that cherished music.

In an interview with country music outlet The Nash News, Morgan recalled “singing harmonies in church” with Ashlyne and Mikaela. The “Whiskey Glasses” singer added that his mom tried to incorporate music and songs into everything they did as kids.

“My mom was real musical with us growing up,” Morgan said. “Whether it was learning the 50 states or learning whatever. It was always something to do with song. Everything was music.”

At age 5, Morgan received a violin for Christmas and later went on to take piano lessons.

In 2023, Morgan released his third studio album, One Thing at a Time. The highly anticipated record features 36 songs, including some of Morgan’s most famous hits like “Last Night” and “You Proof,” as well as the track “Outlook,” on which Ashlyne sings background vocals.

“I’ve always loved her voice,” Morgan told Nash News on the topic of Ashlyne’s vocals, adding that their collaboration was years in the making. “I’ve always wanted to do this with her, but I’ve always been kind of in a hurry and it just never happened.”

Ashlyne previously shared a video of herself in the recording studio on Instagram, which Morgan said was a special moment for them as siblings. “It was her first experience, you know, singing behind a mic like that, being recorded. It was cool for me to be in here and see her be a part of that," he said.

While “Outlook” is a song about personal growth and reflection, its lyrics are also rooted in faith. Morgan explained that having Ashlyne featured on that specific track wasn’t random, but a nod to their musical upbringing. “The song is spiritual, and I think with the way we learned to sing, being in a spiritual realm of things, this song just made sense for me and her to sing,” he said.

Mikaela is a mom of two

In addition to being an aunt to Morgan’s son Indigo Wilder, Mikaela is a mother of two herself. She became a mom for the first time after welcoming her daughter Haven Rose Smith on July 7, 2015. Mikaela’s family grew once more on Jan. 5, 2023, with the addition of daughter Kehlani Lauren Parker.

“Welcome to the world sweetest Kehlani Lauren Parker .. 8 pounds 15 oz and 20 1/2 inches of absolute perfection,” Mikaela wrote on Instagram alongside a video montage capturing Kehlani’s first few days. “Haven got to meet her little sister and she’s gonna be the best big sister I can already tell.”

She added, “Kehlani you are so loved already.”

Lacey was adopted in 2021

Morgan, Ashlyne and Mikaela gained a new sister in 2021 when their parents adopted a young girl named Lacey, whom they were fostering at the time. In an Instagram Story Q&A that was reposted on TikTok, Leslie shared that they “never even thought” about adopting until Lacey walked into their lives. “We were fostering, and of course, we fell in love with her,” Leslie said, to which Ashlyne chimed in, “I did too!”

On July 12, 2021, Lacey officially joined the Wallen family. Leslie announced the exciting news on her Instagram alongside a carousel of photos from adoption day.

“Today was adoption day! I never imagined what God had in store for us as we started down this road in foster care. I always wanted more children, God decided to wait until now! We thank him for his blessing on our family and for tying our hearts with hers. We love her dearly,” Leslie wrote.

When it comes to relationship advice (and inspiration for a love song), Morgan looks to his parents for guidance. Tommy and Leslie tied the knot in August 1991, and recently celebrated 32 years of marriage.

A single father himself, Morgan admitted that he grew up wanting what his parents had. “My parents are still together, you know. They raised [me and my sisters] together. That was my idea of what my life would look like,” he previously told PEOPLE, adding that he initially “struggled” with the idea of being a single parent.

While participating in an Instagram Story Q&A with Leslie and Ashlyne, Tommy revealed his number one piece of advice to a happy and healthy marriage.

“The best advice I can give you is that she is always right,” Tommy said in a video posted to Ashlyne’s Story, which was later shared on TikTok.
