Who is Morgan Wallen?

With hits like “Last Night,” “Everything I Love” and “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” the Country Music Association 2023 Entertainer, Male Artist and Album of the Year nominee released his third studio album, “One Thing At A Time,” in March.

It became the No. 1 album on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart; hanging at the position for 12 consecutive weeks.

Wallen, a 30-year-old Tennessee native, competed in the sixth season of  "The Voice," being eliminated in the playoffs. He released his debut EP, Stand Alone, in 2015.

Aftermath of racial slur

The singer remains popular a couple of years after the release of a video showing him using a racist slur while dropping someone off outside a Nashville home.

In 2001 TMZ posted a video of Wallen telling a friend to "take care of this...(slur)," apparently referring to another person in the group.

Morgan apologized, but the Academy of Country Music Awards halted his "potential involvement and eligibility" in that year's awards cycle. The Country Music Association removed his digital content from their platforms. Big Loud Records suspended his recording contract and his agency, William Morris Endeavor, dropped him.

His latest album was released on Big Loud.
