More details in Zaven Collins’ arrest in Scottsdale

The Arizona Cardinals’ top draft pick in this year’s draft has gotten himself into a little bit of legal trouble. The report came out earlier Monday that he was arrested over the weekend in Scottsdale on Sunday, allegedly for speeding and reckless driving.

More details have emerged in the arrest.

Per Arizona Sports, according to Scottsdale Police, it happened Sunday morning.

He was pulled over near 7400 E Chaparral at just after 10 a.m. local time. He allegedly was driving 76 miles per hour where the speed limit was 35 miles per hour.

Per the report, the Cardinals are aware of the situation, although the team has yet to issue a statement.

Collins was released from jail later that day.

What he is accused of is considered a Class 2 misdemeanor and he could see jail time.

Collins, selected 16th overall in the 2021 draft in April, is expected to start this season at inside linebacker.
