Moon in the Day Episode 5 Recap: Pyo Ye-Jin Remembers Kim Young-Dae From Past Life

Moon in the Day episode 5 shows parallel stories of Pyo Ye-Jin and Kim Young-Dae’s characters from past and present times. The K-drama is a doomed love story of a vengeful spirit and his reincarnated lover.

Pyo Ye-Jin essays the role of Ha Ri-Ta from the Silla Dynasty, who reincarnates as Kang Young-Hwa in the 21st century. Kim Young-Dae plays Do Ha from the past life and his look-alike Han Jun-Oh in the present time. Do Ha became a vengeful spirit after Ri-Ta killed him. He waited for 1,500 years to seek revenge and finally found Jun-Oh’s dead body to possess.

In previous episodes, Do Ha (in Jun-Oh’s body) tried to kill Young-Hwa but failed due to a talisman. In episode 5, he gets suspicious about Young-Hwa who might remember him from her past life.

Moon in the Day Episode 5 ending: Young-Hwa sees Do Ha’s spirit

Moon in the Day episode 5 features firefighter-turned-bodyguard Young-Hwa (Pyo Ye-Jin) moving into Jun-Oh’s (Kim Young-Dae) house. Jun-Oh, aka Do Ha, is startled since Young-Hwa calls him “sir” like Ri-Ta used to do in the past time. The firefighter is also confused because she saw him in her dreams. She is not aware of the fact that her dreams are moments from her past life.

Moon in the Day Episode 5 also shows flashbacks of Do Ha and Ri-Ta. After their night at the cave, the two grow closer. She gets worried about him and he gifts her unique seeds that grow after 1,000 years. In the present time, Do Ha and Young-Hwa share a moment related to the seeds that make him wonder if she remembers her past.

Towards the end, Young-Hwa admits to Do Ha that she dreamt of him from the Silla Dynasty. He accompanies her to Han Min-Oh’s office to talk about her dreams but he faints. While trying to revive Jun-Oh’s body, Young-Hwa sees Do Ha’s spirit. The episode ends with her calling him, “Sir!”
