Monsters of Yacht coming to WHS auditorium Saturday night

Apr. 11—Washington's Community Concert Series kicks Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when Monsters of Yacht come to town.

Lovers of the sounds of the 1970s and 1980s will be sure to enjoy the show that will take place in the Washington High School auditorium.

Based in Nashville, Tennesseee, Monsters of Yacht performs songs from Christopher Cross, Doobie Brothers, TOTO, Robbie Dupree, Player, Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Gerry Rafferty, Boz Scaggs, the Bee Gees and more.

Touring from coast-to-coast, Monsters of Yacht performing at festivals, private events and more delighting audiences with a wide range of songs.

Community Concert Committee member Terri Kelso said once again, thanks to support from the community, concerts tickets are $25 per show or $85 for season tickets that includes all four shows.

Other concerts that are part of the annual series include The Southern Accents on June 8, Come Fly with Me on Aug. 10 and John Berry on Dec. 7.

"As always, our committee member, DeWayne Shake, has picked out some exceptional talent for our series this year," said Kelso. "We are especially excited about bringing John Berry back by popular demand for the third time to our community. He has phenomenal talent so if you've missed his previous two performances, you'll want to make sure to attend his concert this year."

Southern Accents is touted as the ultimate Tom Pretty experience. Also based in Nashville, the group hopes to be the top Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers experiences — they look, play and live the part of the historic band.

Come Fly with Me pays homage to crooners. Ryan J. Driscoll has performed around the U.S. and internationally entertaining guests like Elaine Paige, Sir Time Rice, Robert Morse, Bobbi Brown, Jason Robert Brown and Stephen Schwartz. He's also appeared on 60 Minutes, CBS News, Fox News, ABC news and many others.

Berry's show will be Christmas themed. For more than 20 years, the country music star has been performing holiday shows.
