Margot Robbie and her company LuckyChap are on a roll recently. Following the news that she plans to produce The Sims film and has plans to adapt the Avengelyne comic with Olivia Wilde, Robbie and her partners Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara are setting their sights on a live-action feature film of everyone's family boardgame, Monopoly. Lionsgate announced last summer that they would be developing the Monopoly movie after the company purchased eOne from Hasbro. Now, Robbie and her team are producing alongside Lionsgate.

The studio has called Monopoly the world's most popular board game brand, with 99% global awareness. Plot details are under wraps but it remains to be seen how Robbie will spin the game-favorite acts like collecting $200 after passing GO. Variety reported that during CinemaCon earlier, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson hinted that LuckyChap has "a clear point of view" for the film. He added, "I could not imagine a better production team for this beloved and iconic brand than LuckyChap. They are exceptional producers who choose their projects with great thought and care, and join Monopoly with a clear point of view. We are tremendously excited to be working with the entire LuckyChap team on what we all believe can be their next blockbuster.

LuckyChap also released a statement, "Monopoly is a top property — pun fully intended. Like all of the best IP, this game has resonated worldwide for generations, and we are so excited to bring this game to life alongside the wonderful teams involved at Lionsgate and Hasbro." It remains to be seen when this will release.
