Singer Monica is out here living her best life following her divorce from NBA star Shannon Brown.
Monica is currently on a birthday trip with Toya Wright, T.I., Tiny and Snoop Dogg’s wife Shante Broadus.
The singer looks gorgeous and appears to be enjoying her Mexico trip. Monica has been sharing photos looking STUNNING.
She also appears to be speaking her mind following her officially becoming single. Monica’s divorce from Brown became finalized last month.
Brown took to social media following the split to flirt with his ex-wife. He reposted a sexy photo of Monica captioned, “What you say ?!?!?!?!”
Many fans were quick to trash Brown for trying to get back at his ex after their divorce became final. One wrote, “She dont want you bruh” and “Ayooooooooooo chill babe 😭😭😭.” Another commented, “She said she was shedding dead weight! #message”
While on vacation, she took the time to thank Shante Broadus for being there. Monica and Shannon met in 2010 while she was searching for a love interest for her music video. The two revealed they got married in 2011. Monica gave birth to their first child, Laiyah Shannon, in September 2013.
In March, Monica filed for divorce from Brown following eight years of marriage. She filed the petition after months of speculation they were separating. The case was officially wrapped up last month. The judge ordered Monica and Shannon are no longer legally married and changed her last name back to Arnold.
Monica has been honest about the divorce and talking to her kids about it She said, “They’re definitely impacted. Even more than us because we know what’s taking place, sometimes, when they don’t. In their minds, they’re always trying to figure it out — they’re always trying to figure out what happened, why, and what the changes may be. So for us, my main focus was to make sure that they were okay.”
She also revealed her 11-year-old son asked her to stop the divorce. Monica said, “My 11-year-old asked me, ‘Can you stop divorce? Can you stop it?. I asked him, ‘Did you ask me that because you were asked or are you asking because it’s something you want to know?’ He said, ‘No, it’s something I want to know. Can you stop it, what does it mean, what does it take, what does it require?’ So I told him the truth.”
