American singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton has posted on social media that fans should expect a new Monday Night Football Anthem this evening. Tonight on ESPN, Stapleton will hit the stage to perform a reimagining of the sports scene classic “In The Air Tonight.”

Santapleton tagged rapper Snoop Dogg and Santana's drummer Cindy Blackman Santana in his post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. The post included a 30-second promotional video of Stapleton singing the Phil Collins 1981 hit in his gritty, country-rock fashion.

In the video, Stapleton walks dramatically onstage in a black trench coat and cowboy hat, as Snoop Dogg hits the stage in a burnt orange jumpsuit, and Blackman Santana emotively strikes the drums in a metallic get-up.

"In The Air Tonight" will begin the broadcasts of the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints game on ESPN at 6:15 p.m. CST and the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns on ABC at 7:15 p.m. CST. And for the rest of the season, Monday Night Football will play the song ahead of the games.

Fans can tune in to ESPN tonight to see what the brand new MNF anthem holds.
