After four feature films and another one on its way for the big screen, Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse is coming to the small screen with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

Debuting Friday on Apple TV+, the new series is set a year after the G-Day attack in 2014’s Godzilla. It follows Cate (Anna Sawai), a Bay Area school teacher who goes to Tokyo to learn more about her deceased father. She soon discovers that she has a secret half-brother (Ren Watabe), while her family has ties to a top-secret organization that researches the world’s monsters called Monarch.

Based on Toho Co., Ltd. and developed by Matt Fraction and Chris Black, who also serves as showrunner, the 10-episode series stars Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Kiersey Clemons, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski and others.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season one is available to stream on Apple TV+ starting Friday. New episodes will be released every Friday, and the season finale drops Jan. 12, 2024.
