Momo Mee, 110 E. Greenfield Ave., the pan-Asian restaurant specializing in hand-made dumplings and noodles, will celebrate the coming of the Year of the Dragon by expanding its menu for much of February.

From Feb. 1 to Feb. 25, Momo Mee will offer six authentic Asian dishes in honor of Lunar New Year, also called Chinese New Year, which runs from Feb. 10 through Feb. 24.

Lunar New Year is the celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of the new year on the lunisolar calendar. Dates change every year, beginning on the first new moon of the lunar calendar and ending on the first full moon, typically 15 days later.

To celebrate the holiday, Momo Mee’s limited-time, celebratory menu will include the following dishes:

  • Crispy momo appetizer: Six dumplings filled with chicken, glass noodles, vegetables and cumin spice, served with a tamarind dipping sauce ($15)

  • Jiaozi dumpling soup: Dumplings stuffed with pork, shrimp, bamboo shoots, root ear mushrooms and scallions, served in chicken broth ($22)

  • Bo zai fan: Spiced pork sausage, chicken, bok choy and fried egg and rice cooked in a clay pot ($24)

  • Clay pot Korean spicy ramen: Your choice of chicken ($22), spiced pork sausage ($24) or beef ($24) with an over-easy egg, corn, cabbage, carrot, bean sprouts, scallions and black sesame seeds in spicy chili chicken broth

  • Bone-in five-spice duck: Half a bone-in duck fried and seasoned with Szechuan peppercorns, five spice and star anise, served with jasmine rice ($38)

  • Pineapple Gulaorou: A traditional Hong Kong-style sweet and sour pork stir-fry with red bell pepper in pineapple house-made sweet and tangy sauce with jasmine rice ($24)

Momo Mee’s regular menu will be available throughout the event, but the New Year dishes will be served in limited quantities, so sell-outs could happen periodically.

Reservations are recommended and can be made online at momomeerestaurant.com or by calling (414) 316-9003.
