Yseult is really proving her fashion versatility at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival this week.

The French singer, songwriter, and rapper stole the show when she attended the red-carpet premiere of new sci-fi flick Megalopolis in the iconic “New Look” Dior silhouette—a term coined by former Harper’s Bazaar editor in chief Carmel Snow.

Yseult’s ensemble included a white silk single-breasted blazer, which had a sharply-cinched center, creating an hourglass shape. Styled by Jonathan Huguet, the jacket was paired with a pleated black maxi skirt, and Huguet continued the contrast with a collection of inky accessories, including ruched gloves, pointy heels, and a tilted straw hat (fashion devotees may recall that Elle Fanning wore a similar cap when she attended the festival back in 2019).

This elegant, two-tone fit was one of the showstoppers of the first week of the Cannes festival, and it was a complete 180 from the look Yseult wore when she first arrived.

In case you missed it, the musician was spotted ahead of her red carpet appearance outside of Hôtel Martinez, where she was seen wearing a monochromatic ensemble that put an artsy twist on the all-denim trend.

It was an oversize matching set courtesy of Balenciaga. The co-ord consisted of a pair of wide-leg jeans—which pooled over Yseult’s studded black sneakers—and a jean jacket with two front pockets and lots of decorative stitching. However, it was the dramatic collar of the jacket that was the most eye-grabbing, because Yseult popped it up to frame her face.

With this one-two punch, Yseult has shown us she can switch from sleek street style to glitzy red carpet glamour with absolute ease, like a true cool girl.
