This Moment Between Margot Robbie & Her Husband Tom Ackerley Has Fans Cackling With Her

While red carpets may seem a little daunting from the outside, it seems like some celebrities have got the routine so down, they even have some fun with it. At the 2023 Gotham Awards, for example, Barbie star Margot Robbie and her husband Tom Ackerley shared quite an unexpected moment on the carpet.

According to Page Six, at some point on the carpet, Robbie and Ackerley were joined by Barbie director Greta Gerwig, the movie’s co-writer Noah Baumbach and actress Laura Dern. While they posed for pictures, Robbie was seen smiling, laughing and even shifting around as she appeared to push off her husband (watch the moment HERE!)

As a result, a reporter for the outlet then asked, “Is he pinching your bum?” which made Robbie burst into laughter. As she laughed, Gerwig then asked her “What are you doing over there?”

Robbie, like any great actress, managed to quickly compose herself and go back to smiling for photos. Per Page Six, both Robbie and Ackerley denied any butt-grabbing.

Comments on social media, however, seem to be certain that Ackerley was up to something. “Her smile says it all.. he definitely is 😭,” one commenter wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “If you watch him the whole time, he’s clearly up to something,” wrote another user. “Well played sir.”

Most of all, it seems like commenters are just happy to see a celebrity let loose like this on the carpet. “Her laughing got me laughing uncontrollably 😭,” one user wrote. “Hilarious 😂😂,” wrote another.

Robbie and Ackerley’s red carpet shenanigans come shortly after Variety’s Power of Women event in which Ackerley and their co-producer Josey McNamara read Robbie’s speech because she had lost her voice. “So she’s written this speech that Tom and I are going to read, so we apologize in advance: This is not our strong point,” McNamara said, per People. “We also haven’t read the speech yet,” Ackerley continued. “We agreed to this yesterday.”

In the speech, which honored all three of them, Robbie slipped in a hilarious confession. “So I vow here and now, in front of all these people, and Dua Lipa, who I have a secret crush on, to not leave all the speeches to Margot from now on,” he wrote. Robbie, like the rest of the room, then burst out laughing. We just love these two!
