Drew Barrymore on Monday told Vice President Kamala Harris that the United States needs a mom — or a “Momala” — right now.

“I keep thinking in my head that we all need a mom. I've been thinking that we really all need a tremendous hug in the world right now,” Barrymore said on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

“But in our country, we need you to be ‘Momala.’”

“Momala” is what Harris’ step-children, Ella and Cole Emhoff, call her. Harris earlier in the interview explained why they don’t use the term “step mom” in their family.

“Disney kind of messed that up for a lot of us,” Harris joked. “You know, the evil step-parent thing?”

Barrymore also spoke to the vice president about the importance of women empowering other women.

“And as a woman who respects so much, and wants to share, and wants to be confident, and has no ounce of me that has competitiveness, when we lift each other up, we all rise,” Barrymore said, grasping Harris' hands.

“That's exactly right,” Harris replied.
